Queenstown will host the CINZ Conference 2019, the country’s annual business events conference.
Queenstown has won the bid to host New Zealand's annual business events conference next October, coming at a time as the resort town's MICE business gathers pace.

Next year, the Conventions and Incentives New Zealand (CINZ) is expected to draw 180 delegates from across the business events industry, as well as local and international speakers.

CINZ Chief Executive, Sue Sullivan says the conference will showcase Queenstown as an outstanding incentive destination.

The Southern Lakes destination had recently welcomed a large Amway incentive from group China. A total of 6,300 delegates visited the destination in 11 groups of 500, taking in Queenstown's incentive offerings during the autumn shoulder season.

Queenstown Convention Bureau Director, Kiran Nambiar said the region's operators are excited to be hosting the conference, with the win coming at a timely juncture as "Queenstown's position as a premium incentive and event destination is consolidating on the world stage."

The conference is organised by CINZ, the official association for the New Zealand conference and business travel industry, which works to promote the sector and offer assistance and professional development. It currently has more than 430 members.

CINZ also manages the country's only national annual trade show MEETINGS, which generated over A$60 million during its two days in Auckland in 2018.
