Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB) says it has recorded impressive results in 2024 with regards to attracting international conferences and events to cities and destinations in all four key regions of Thailand.
The four regions are defined as the lesser-known northeast, including Nakhon Ratchasima province or Korat, the southern area with Phuket, Phitsanulok province in the northern region and the central region close to Bangkok, including the city of Phetchaburi.
The International Horticultural Exposition will take place in the northeast in 2029, while Phuket will host the Global Sustainable Tourism Conference (GSTC) in 2026. Phitsanulok province was selected by IFEA-Asia in September to host World Cultural Heritage City and Night Festival Conference 2025, the first international conference to take place in the city, after it was selected by TCEB as a MICE city. Phetchaburi showcased its potential as a future MICE city by hosting PATA’s Destination Marketing Forum (PDMF) in 2024.

Chiruit Isarangkun Na Ayuthaya, TCEB president said: “Of all four key regions of Thailand, the northeast is the lesser-known destination. Hosting the International Horticultural Exposition in Korat will be a major showcase of the region’s capability in staging world events. It will be a significant milestone for the region in positioning itself for the MICE industry.”
He added that TCEB has a strategy to sharpen the competitiveness of the Thai MICE industry by developing local identities of city destinations across Thailand into unique selling points for planners, event owners and travellers.
