The Penthouse’s 208sqm indoor space is perfect for intimate banquets.
Injecting a little out-of-this-world pizzazz to your next event at Shanghai is one way to wow your attendees, who may already be bored of the standard fare of five-star hotel ballrooms and snazzy cocktail bars in the cosmopolitan city.

The Penthouse at The Middle House, which opened earlier this year, is the perfect showstopper to keep your attendees enthralled - and perhaps even staying all through the night.

Occupying an impressive 660sqm on the 14th floor, the most luxurious room in Swire Hotels' latest property is more than just an exquisite place of residence. Featuring an outdoor area and a 208sqm indoor area with the versatility to be split into two separate spaces, the Penthouse can be transformed from the quintessential home away from home into a sophisticated venue suited for all events of all sizes - from intimate soirees to gala dinners or cocktail parties for up to 200 people hosted in style.

Paying homage to local Chinese culture, a large hand-painted dragon mural in natural tones is one of the centerpieces of the Penthouse's Italian and Chinese-inspired interior - exuding the artistic vision of renowned Italian architect Piero Lissoni of Lissoni Architettura in Milan.

For the truly unforgettable event, the Penthouse is available for booking from CNY120,000+ (US$17,314+) per night, subject to prevailing tax.

For other special occasions, The Middle House also offers smaller event spaces ideal for groups of six to 20 guests such as the Gray Room and the Wine Room at Café Gray Deluxe. For larger groups, planners may consider the Italian restaurant Frasca for an al fresco event on the outdoor terrace for 70 guests, or the Sui Tang Shang above the Chinese Restaurant for cocktail-style events for 80 guests.
