Hilton Malaysia has introduce a slew of sustainability and wellness options for meeting professionals under its 'Meet with Purpose' programme.

The initiative will be offered throughout Hilton Malaysia's nine properties, which include Hilton Kuala Lumpur, Hilton Petaling Jaya, Hilton Kuching, Hilton Kota Kinabalu, DoubleTree by Hilton Kuala Lumpur, DoubleTree by Hilton Johor Bahru, DoubleTree by Hilton Melaka and DoubleTree Resort by Hilton Penang and Malaysia's new Hilton brand, Hilton Garden Inn Kuala Lumpur Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman North.

The programme offers meeting professionals inclusions ranging from food and beverage to environmentally friendly initiatives and well-being and mindfulness.

Planners can incorporate aspects such as local and seasonal ingredients, creative presentations and nutritionally balanced menus for their meetings.

"We now focus a lot on mindful and healthy eating, so that you are aware of what you eat. This is all based on healthy food items, which are locally sourced," said chef Ridzuan Malek, executive chef at Hilton Petaling Jaya.

Hilton's Malaysia properties will also phase out the use of plastic in meetings by June this year.

"Plastic water bottles are being replaced with glass bottles or pitchers and each delegate when attending a meeting will now receive recycled pens, notepads upon request," explained Constance Lee, assistant director of sales groups, conferences & event.

The programme will also offer planners ways to incorporate well-being into their meetings. Arrangements could be made to incorporate access to outdoor spaces and breakout areas, providing standing tables and opportunities to get delegates moving during meetings.

Fitness equipment such as exercise balls, yoga mats and stretch bands, or even access to fitness facilities and personal trainers can provide a helpful push in that direction. Planners can also set up mindfulness booths like massage chairs or headsets with relaxing music during coffee breaks.
