Karan Berry, general manager, Mandarin Oriental, Taipei
Mandarin Oriental, Taipei has tapped hospitality veteran Karan Berry as its new general manager. 

Berry brings with him more than 22 years' of experience in the hospitality industry and a strong background in hotel operations. 

He has previously taken up the helm as general manager in several properties such as The Ritz-Carlton Pacific Place, Jakarta and JW Marriott Hotel Jakarta, and has worked at several Oberoi Group hotels.

His new appointment will see him overseeing the only Forbes Five-Star property in Taipei. 

Born in New Delhi and raised in India, Berry holds a Bachelor's degree in Commerce from Delhi University and a post-graduate Diploma from The Oberoi Centre of Learning and Development, Delhi. 

He is a fan of contemporary art, culture and opera and in his leisure time, enjoys playing cricket, badminton and travelling with his family.
