Sam Li, general manager for China, CWT Meetings & Events

CWT Meetings & Events has appointed Sam Li general manager for China, reporting to senior vice president and global head, Cindy Fisher.

Based in Beijing, Li will lead a team of meetings and events specialists across CWT's five offices in China, and will be responsible for growing CWT Meetings & Events' business in this market, creating highly participative, digital and data-driven M&E experiences for clients.

He joins CWT with over 17 years' experience, having previously served as general manager and assistant president at one of China's largest travel companies, where he spent 10 years growing their outbound tourism business and expanding their meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions (MICE) operations.

"China presents tremendous opportunities for us, particularly with the growing interest in strategic meetings management (SMM) and companies looking to better align their business travel and M&E programs," said Cindy Fisher.

"Sam has extensive experience in business planning, management execution and business development for meetings and events in China. I'm confident he will be able to help our clients get the most out of their M&E programs, and take our business in China to the next level," she added.
