Egencia business travellers now have the option of booking flights and extra baggage simultaneously with Amadeus Web Services. As of March 1, travel management company Egencia has been offering merchandising content to its clients on more than 10 airlines.

Last year, travel agencies and airlines embraced merchandising in a big way with nearly 100 per cent growth in the sale of airline ancillary services.

"Seats and bags are just the beginning," says Pedro Espin, associate director for merchandising and personalisation at Amadeus. "New ways to book a flight, including rich content, are just around the corner."
